Once every two weeks I do a lot of shopping at the health food store nearby. Here I get the special things that I can not get on the market or in the super. My list includes the following products as standard: chia seeds, hemp seed, coconut grater, inca berries, almonds, walnuts, linseed, oatmeal, dates, cocoa powder, cocoa nibs, buckwheat and coconut oil. Often in bulk packs because everything is finished soon! If this is in my cart, I often look around for tasty ingredients and some inspiration. One time these are things like almond and coconut flour, the other time I go for pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds and pine nuts. This weekend I walked by and to my surprise I saw red quinoa. I can always get white quinoa, but black and red are a lot harder to come by. Last Saturday turned out to be a special day because the store had just received an order! I went home happy with 3 bags of red quinoa and spent the rest of Saturday in the kitchen. This quinoa has a slightly stronger taste than the white version. So my quinoa bars, veggie burgers, and quinoa pudding all had a delicious nutty flavor. We ate the pudding for dessert with red fruits, but I had some left over. Very nice because this pudding also works well for breakfast. I added some cocoa powder, this gave the dish a huge boost! How delicious the combination of quinoa and cocoa! With some coconut chips, coconut grater, cocoa nibs and some agave syrup, this was really the best breakfast ever! I had to make extra for my friend, who loves quinoa .. he ate 4 more portions Sunday and I brought a bowl to work today. By the way, this was really delicious, it fills well, it is nice and sweet and packed with healthy ingredients, so I was able to continue for a few hours!
