We love energy bars and energy bites. A quick bite for a boost when you have a dip or want to exercise. We have already made them in all shapes and sizes. Still, the bliss balls (few recipes back) and these quinoa & chocolate bars remain our favorites. They are not too sweet and do well as concentrates. In addition, you can vary well with both ingredients. I make these chocolate bars with what is in the cupboard. One time the base is made from nuts, the other time from puffed rice. The nice thing is that the recipe always works because of the tasty nut butter sauce. Since the 'paste' is already made from nuts, I like to choose ingredients such as puffed quinoa, pumpkin seeds, puffed amaranth, buckwheat and sunflower seeds. This ensures that the bars do not fall so heavily on your stomach.
