Apple strudel with warm jam

Living the Green Life

My boyfriend and I are pretty much on the same page when it comes to nutrition. We eat fresh, almost always organic, nothing comes out of our package, we eat a lot of vegetables and more fruit every day! Desserts, bars, snacks, snacks, we both eat everything (provided it is vegan, of course). There is only one thing we will never agree on and that is apple strudel. I always used to love it, on Saturday evening we put an apple strudel in the oven for 10 minutes, vanilla ice cream over it, a little caramel sauce and enjoy! I loved the warm and cold together. The best of both worlds and a little summer with winter together! Timo doesn't understand this at all .. Cold is cold and warm is warm. You don't mix those two things. I've heard this many times before. I no longer eat apple study and Timo does not like it so this dessert has not been around for a while .. until yesterday! I was already in the kitchen in the morning to prepare for the Easter dinner. One of the things I wanted to eat was homemade walnut apple sauce. This was simmering and I did not have to look back so I had time to prepare my 2nd breakfast .. banana ice cream (recipe can be found here). While I was doing this, a delicious apple sauce scent spread throughout the house that reminded me of the apple strudel of yesteryear ... one plus one is two! Cold and warm together, ice cream and apple, but vegan and healthy! The tastiest creations come to mind if you are not looking for them and always happen to me by accident. This combination is so tasty and so simple, the only thing you could miss is the puff pastry which is normally the crust of your apple strudel. So I skipped this one but I added some walnuts for the crunch to compensate! If you want to try this recipe, take a look at a few recipes for the banana ice cream.
