Living the Green Life

Smoothies started my quest for healthy and delicious food. My parents bought a blender at the foolish days of the Bijenkorf ten years ago, I had never heard of a blender and so I didn't know they were holding gold! Blenders were not really hip at the time (this was before the time of the superfood hype). But at that time the healthy fun started for us, I loved throwing all kinds of fruit in the bin and seeing what color my smoothie would be now. I must say that not every mix looked nice, when I read about how healthy spinach is for you, I drank a brown derrie for a while .. A tip, berries and spinach make delicious smoothies but it really doesn't look like much! Still, there have been many recipes that did great at our house, especially in the summer mango with strawberry and coconut water was number 1 at our house! Slowly I started to take an interest in other healthy food because I also knew that a healthy smoothie would be good one day, but if I kept eating sandwiches with sprinkles for the rest, it wouldn't make much difference. So I ate more vegetables, more fruits, nuts, grains, seeds, juices and my breakfast smoothie gave way to overnight oats. Last week, from the moment I got up, I was low-key and just forgot my breakfast! Normally I eat two and now none! Quickly something easy because I was very hungry at once and you will see it coming soon .. What is fast and easy? Right, a fruit smoothie. I took my blender back and did the best things and found that I have become a lot more creative with ingredients. It used to be mainly berries and coconut water, but now exotic things went in too. My breakfast was ready within 2 minutes and I'm hooked again! My blender and I have been great friends since last week! So brace yourself because there are many tasty smoothie recipes coming your way again.
